Can You Walk Into Apple For Support?

You can walk into an Apple Store to ask a quick question and the team in-store may be able to provide some assistance to you. However, in most cases Apple requires a pre-booked appointment with your Apple Store.

If you require a service or repair, or more in-depth assistance, your local Apple Store will require an appointment.

Will It Cost Me?

Apple provides most diagnostics and support free of charge but if your iPhone, Mac, or iPad requires service or repair, this could cost. If you have AppleCare+ it may be free or it could come with a service charge.

If your product needs a service or repair that is covered under a service program or is covered under warranty there wont be a charge. Your product may be repaired or replaced under a service program or under warranty.

View all current service programs https://support.apple.com/en-au/service-programs.

If your product is out of warranty or is not covered under AppleCare+ there will be a charge for service or repair.

What If I Have AppleCare+?

If you have AppleCare+ your service or repair for your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or other Apple product could be free or it could come with a service charge. The Apple Store team will be able to advise you on cost. AppleCare product benefits are separate from and in addition to the Apple Limited Warranty and any legal rights provided by Australian consumer law.

Does Apple Repair Products?

Apple does provide repairs for current products such as iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch but this is limited to only some components and certain products.

Apple does not provide repairs or support for some products such as HomePod, AirPods, or vintage and obsolete products such as iPod.

Will Apple Replace My iPhone Or Mac?

Depending on the damage to your iPhone, Mac, or other Apple product it may be repaired or replaced. If your iPhone has an issue that is covered under warranty or AppleCare+, such as faulty software or hardware damage that cannot be serviced in-store it may be sent to an Apple Service Centre.

Many Mac repairs are sent to a service centre as your Apple Store may not carry replacement Mac parts. iPad and Apple Watch products are also not serviced in-store and Apple will provide you with a refurbished or new replacement product.

Does Apple Provide Data Recovery?

Apple does not offer data recovery services unless your iPhone, Mac, or iPad can be restored or recovered from iCloud. If you do not have your data saved to iCloud Apple is unable to recover data from your device.

Apple may recommend third-party data recovery services that may be able to recover your data.
