macOS Sequoia is packed with new features that enhance productivity and improve the overall user experience on Mac. Below are five more standout additions that users will find particularly useful. Haven’t read about our first news post, read it here.
Show Passwords In The Menu Bar
In macOS Sequoia, Apple has made it easier to access your stored passwords by allowing you to add the Passwords app directly to the menu bar. To enable this, navigate to Passwords > Settings and check the box next to “Show Passwords in Menu Bar.” Once activated, you can quickly view your login credentials by clicking the key icon in the menu bar, which automatically detects your saved login details for websites. This feature also works in other browsers that have the iCloud Passwords extension installed.
Text Highlighting in Notes
Apple’s Notes app now supports colored text highlighting, offering more versatility when organizing information. Users can choose from five new colours: pink, purple, orange, mint, and blue. To highlight text, simply select a word or phrase, click the Aa button in the formatting bar, and choose your preferred colour. This feature makes it easier to draw attention to important notes, whether you’re using the app for work or personal projects.
iPhone Mirroring
iPhone mirroring is a convenient feature that allows users to display their iPhone’s screen on a Mac, enhancing the overall experience for multitasking and presentations. By using this functionality, you can easily share content, such as photos, videos, or apps, directly from your iPhone to a larger screen. This is particularly useful during video calls, where you can showcase specific apps or media without the need for additional cables or complicated setups.
With intuitive controls, users can access their iPhone’s Home Screen, switch between apps, and manage mirroring settings seamlessly. Whether for professional presentations or personal use, iPhone mirroring simplifies the way you interact with your devices.
Safari Highlights
Sequoia adds a smart assistant-like feature to Safari called Highlights. A purple sparkle over the tool icon in Safari’s browser bar signals the availability of this feature. Highlights intelligently surfaces useful information on the webpage you’re viewing, saving you time by eliminating the need for manual searches. For example, it can display address details, business hours, and even biographical summaries, depending on the content you’re browsing. It’s a handy addition for anyone who relies on Safari for both work and personal web searches.
New AirDrop Interface
Sharing files via AirDrop has never been smoother, thanks to Sequoia’s redesigned interface. A progress bar now appears during transfers, giving you a clearer idea of how much time remains before completion. Additionally, when a transfer finishes, macOS will offer to open the received file directly in Finder, making it easier to locate and manage shared content.
