About Firmware Updates For AirPods

Overview of Firmware Updates for AirPods

Firmware updates for AirPods ensure that your device is always running the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes. These updates are delivered automatically when your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, which must be connected to Wi-Fi. Keeping your firmware updated ensures optimal performance and access to the newest features Apple offers.

How to Find Your AirPods Firmware Version

You can easily check if your AirPods have the latest firmware version using your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Here’s how to do it on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

On iPhone & iPad

1. Ensure your device is running the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.

2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.

3. Tap the Info button next to the name of your AirPods.

4. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version.

On Mac

1. Make sure your Mac is running the latest version of macOS.

2. Press and hold the Option key, then click the Apple menu and choose System Information.

3. Select Bluetooth and look under your AirPods for the firmware version.

4. For macOS Ventura or later, go to the Apple menu > System Settings, click Bluetooth, and select the Info button next to your AirPods.
